FurFans is an adult-only platform. We are committed to preventing minors from accessing our content. This Age Verification Policy explains how we verify the age of every user before granting access to explicit material.
You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to access this Platform. In jurisdictions where the legal age for accessing adult content is higher (for example, twenty-one (21) years of age), you must meet that higher threshold. If you are under the applicable minimum age for your jurisdiction, you are prohibited from accessing this Platform.
We use a two-step age verification process designed to be both thorough and respectful of your privacy.
Every user is required to enter their date of birth during account registration. If the date of birth you provide indicates that you are under eighteen (18) years of age, your registration will be blocked, and no account will be created. Date-of-birth entry alone does not grant access to explicit content.
Users accessing the Platform from jurisdictions that require enhanced age verification under applicable state or federal law, or at the Platform's discretion for additional security, will be required to complete identity verification through a certified third-party provider.
Our primary verification provider is Veriff, a globally recognized identity verification service. Plaid serves as a backup provider. The specific verification method may include: (a) government-issued photo identification document upload; (b) liveness detection (a brief selfie or video to confirm the person presenting the ID is the ID holder); and/or (c) database-based identity confirmation.
The verification process is conducted entirely within the third-party provider's secure environment. The Platform does not receive, view, store, or retain any copies of your identification documents, facial images, or biometric data.
Here is what you can expect when enhanced verification is required:
The Platform stores only: (a) a pass/fail verification result; (b) a timestamp of when verification was completed; (c) the verification method used (e.g., "identity document" or "database verification"); and (d) an anonymized session identifier from the verification provider. This information is retained for the duration of your active account for compliance documentation purposes.
The Platform does not store: (a) copies of your identification documents; (b) photographs or images of your face; (c) biometric data of any kind; (d) your government identification number, driver's license number, or passport number. This data exists only within the verification provider's secure systems and is subject to their privacy policy and data retention schedule.
Veriff and Plaid maintain their own privacy policies governing how they handle verification data. We encourage you to review their policies. We have selected providers who commit to: (a) encrypting verification data in transit and at rest; (b) deleting raw verification data within a defined retention period; and (c) not selling or sharing verification data for marketing or advertising purposes.
We do not retain any biometric or identification document data at any point. The verification provider processes this data, returns a pass/fail result to us, and retains data according to their own policies. Upon your request for account deletion, we delete our stored verification results (pass/fail status and anonymized session ID) within thirty (30) days.
Multiple U.S. states have enacted or are considering legislation requiring adult content platforms to verify user ages. The Platform monitors these laws on an ongoing basis and routes users from affected jurisdictions to the appropriate verification level based on their state's requirements.
The Platform uses IP-based geolocation to determine which verification requirements apply to your session. If your state requires enhanced identity verification, you will be prompted to complete Level 2 verification before accessing explicit content. If your state does not require enhanced verification, Level 1 (date of birth) combined with payment card verification at the time of subscription serves as the verification mechanism.
In states where compliance with age verification requirements is not technically feasible, the Platform may restrict access from those jurisdictions.
The Platform may require periodic re-verification of age to maintain ongoing compliance with applicable laws. If re-verification is required, you will be notified in advance and given a reasonable timeframe to complete the process. Access to explicit content will be suspended if re-verification is not completed within the specified period.

Common reasons for verification failure include: poor image quality, expired identification documents, mismatched information, or technical issues with the verification provider. A failed verification does not result in account termination; your account remains active but restricted to non-explicit content until verification is successfully completed.
If you believe a minor has gained access to this Platform, please report it immediately to furfans@proton.me. We take all such reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
